No To Lazy

The photographs of one of my favorite photographers Juergen Teller never ceases to amaze me. I would say that the composition, the lighting (film or digital / harsh or soft), the awkward uninhabitable spaces, the guerilla/straight shooter feel of his the shoots (studio or location), the focus on the subject/self, aided by the attitude of the models (celebrity/supermodels/male-to-female or vice versa/or himself) makes his photographs beyond interesting.

Talk about beyond interesting. Nothing is beyond than the amazing BJORK.

For those of you who dont know (which i doubt) you might be familiar with his work for Marc Jacobs (Here are examples of it. The 2006,2007,2008,2009 AD Campaigns respectively)

Vivienne Westwood

The legendary FW 2010 CELINE collection of Phoebe Philo

My favorite Juergen Teller x Marc Jacobs was the most recent. The FW 2010/2011 collection featuring models Frida Gustavsson, Jac Jagaciak and Ann Kenny. I love the GREY GARDENS feel of the shoot. I adore Little Eddie and Big Eddie!

Juergen is famous not only in the Fashion scene but also in (High) Art. Noted as the heir to the legendary William Eggleston's photography style (W.E is credited in legitimizing COLOR photography as an artistic medium in ART in the 70s and like his heir Juergen Teller finds beauty in the mundane in ordinary spaces) he is certainly one of the most notable photographers of his generation.

On top off my fascination with Juergen Teller's photographic style is the genius of Vivienne Westwood, Marc Jacob and now for Phoebe Philo (I couldnt ask for more)

Here is a Juergen Teller/Marc Jacobs/Vivienne Westwood/Celine inspired testshoot i did with Photographer Rxandy Capinpin Styled by Me (Ryuji Shiomitsu) Make Up Artist Anton Patdu and hairstylist Jay Wee with model Kate Bautista. Crisscrossing style references from recent and past collections of Marc Jacobs and Marc by Marc Jacobs. Here are some of the photos published in Manila Bulletin Fashion & Lifestyle Section yesterday.
