Why Don't You Love Me

Here is the MV of Beyoncé for Why Dont You Love Me from her I Am... Sasha Fierce album.

I love the mix of references in video. Imagine 50s-60s Bombshell Housewives with a whole lot of SEX.

Think Rosie the Riveter (Herewith is the WE CAN DO IT! photo of the iconic Rosie by J. Howard Miller in 1943 - if you guys dont know Rosie is the cultural icon representing the american women who worked in the factories during World War II)

meets Jane Russell in The Fuzzy Pink Nightgown

mixed with the Barbie Life of 50s Bombshell Jayne Mansfield on her Beverly Hills PINK PALACE.

It wouldn't be a Beyoncé video without the subversive sexual imagery and messages of a housewife and bombshells.

In the video i think she's wearing previous collections of Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, Miu Miu, Chanel if im not mistaken. Love the vintage white cateye sunglasses and the ghost cateye sunglasses (very Prada SS2011) I also love the vintage style final edit.

I would definitely love to do a shoot similar to this... minus the SEX, more Fashion.

So anyways speaking of BOMBSHELLS. You need to check out Georgia Jagger (17 years old socialite/model). Here is a photo of her for Hudson. Brigitte Bardot is that you? but no. she is the love child of Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall. I just love her Gap Toothed-ness lol

2010 MNET Asian Music Awards

It was my first time to watch the award show. Unfortunately after 2NE1 welcomed everyone, Dara speaking in Filipino, and 2PM winning an award i had to go somewhere to pullout clothes! I wasnt even able to see the performance of GDragon which i anticipated since Taeyang had singles released this year. Thanks to ALLKPOP.com for the updates over twitter.

Here is the Taeyang + G-Dragon + T.O.P performance

I want to watch a BIGBANG concert. Wish i could next year for the Beautiful Hangover!

They all look great but i only wanted to see GDragon. He is the cutest after all lol

But why did he color his hair deep burgundy/black again? i loved the red-red hair! the ring he's wearing below looks familiar! i think that Multi-Flower Ring is from ALDO which my friend Kaye Villasenor needs to give me now! cute cute cute

GDragon looks good in a suit (especially in the white). T.O.P's hair is nice too. i love the blonde/almost white hair. :)

Aside from BIGBANG, i also love 2NE1 (which really are just my favorite KPOP artist). Dara was the best dressed among the 2NE1 members. But i dare say that her look is very reminiscent of Balmain Fall 2010 Look 1 on Anna Selezneva. Im not sure if her fur is Balmain, but her look sure does.

TOPSHOP Fall 2010 PR Photos (PH)

I love TOPSHOP

I couldn't think of a better opener for this entry than that statement. I really do love TOPSHOP and ofcourse TOPMAN both of which are the reason why i survived the everyday-you-have-to-dress-up-casual but not super casual-in-civilian code of my college life in DLSU Manila. It was a privilege that i had been given the opportunity to style the PR Photos of RSSI (Robinsons Specialty Stores Inc.) for the brand. The shoot was for TOPSHOP's Fall 2010 collection. I did style it in a way that the Fall 2010 pieces would be suitable for the Philippines (hot weather and all). Here are some of the photos released in Philippine Star October 15, 2010.

Photographed by Jake Verzosa
Styled by Ryuji Shiomitsu
Make Up by Mickey See
On Location: Sampaguita Studios
Special thanks to Inez and Valerie

OM its SPARKLING! ♥

I was just passing by SM North EDSA to meet up a friend in The Block (the other side of the Mall) when we decided to go to National Bookstore just to check new magazines. Voila! right in front me SPARKLING: Life In KPOP Color November 2010 with 2PM (korean boy band) on the cover. I found it weird in a good way because; First i never saw a cover like that here (an actual working cover); second there are no Korean/Japanese magazines here in the Philippines that i know of; third i never saw anything like it (LIFE IN KPOP COLOR); fourth that the issue is NEW! and lastly that its LOCAL! So i immediately bought it. Incidentally it was a double cover (4 Minute) and a special collectors edition.

Here are the two covers

So why do i love the magazine?

1. My friends are in it! lol Check out Eldzs Mejia, Mary Dizon, Ziggy Savella, Cheska Nolasco (i havent met her but she's friends with Eldzs, Ziggy and BJ) Jobel Gomez on the STREET BEAT Page and Pauline Camille on the Opposite Page

2. Anything that features Jang Geun Suk, Lee Min Ho and BIGBANG (especially GDragon)! Im all yours!

the Managing Editor of Sparkling Eunice Lucero even covered the fanmeet of BIGBANG! im green with envy! lol

OM GDragon! i love GDragon!

3. Photographer BJ Pascual did an editorial inside with Jessica Yang entitled Animal Instincts styled by Cindy Go.

4. They actually recommended the one thing i have been looking for since my addiction to Boys Over Flowers, et.al.! a website that sells original DVD sets of Japanese/Korean series, Original Soundtracks, Merchandise, and more! this one i really appreciated! For more visit Fan Girl Asia

Im seriously getting the BOX SET of You're Beautiful! Christmas Gift to me? anyone? lol

and lastly

5. its just 150PHP! if you just started to like JPOP/JPOP/or anything in between. This will surely be a good guide!

OK you guys just need to check it out.
Now ill go back figuring out how to order the DVD Box Set of You're Beautiful!

EXCESS-ORIES

I especially love Accessories. It is one of the best ways to update a look, make an ensemble from boring to vavoom! The equation of Cycle + Celebrity = TREND (as according to WhoWhatWear by Hillary Kerr and Katherine Power. Who i adore! i recommend everyone to grab a copy of their book! i even made it compulsory for my fashion styling students in FIP to buy a copy. Ill discuss that in another blog entry) paved way to a fast revolving trend cycle powered by celebrities. Whatever they wear (the trendsetters/the living fashion icons/the fashionphiles ofcourse) instantly becomes a norm on what the mass (thats us) will wear. ''IT'' status on Bags, Shoes and Excessories are a by-product of this phenomenon. Best examples of this are the following:

The Balenciaga Motorcycle Bag (launched in Spring 2001 together with the Le Dix and the Lariat) now in many varieties

and

The CHANEL Maxi XL Jumbo 2.55 (I especially love the RED)

Both bags were pictured in the arms of Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, Sienna Miller, Kate Moss, Kelly Osbourne, Sarah Jessica Parker, Gwyneth Paltrow and ofcourse Nicole Ritchie (among others)

The paparazzi or the unlikely on/off bestfriend of the celebrities are at fault of this cult following on what celebrities wear. TMZ, Us Weekly, et. al. made available the images of off-duty celebrities. This made the designers create even more outstanding pieces and stylist scour for new groundbreaking/ heartstoping/ breathetaking accessories to feature.

And now comes the fun part. Finding amazing designer shoes. My friend photographer Rxandy Capinpin showed me the website of Footwear Designer Kobi Levi. I was amazed how visual and conceptual the shoes were! Here are some of the pieces i loved!

XXX Pumps (2010)

Blow Pumps (2010)

Banana Slip Ons

The Chewing Gum

Market Platforms (1998)

Kobi Levi graduated from Bezalel Academy of Art & Design, Jerusalem in 2001. Specializing in footwear design and development/making. He is a freelance designer. He is designing his own Men Shoe line named Tel-Aviv, Israel. He also designs industrial footwear in both Italy, China and Brazil and Presented his designs in various exhibitions in Tel-Aviv, Jerusalem, Tokyo, Verona, St.Etienne, Berlin et.al.

He said in his profile: " In my artistic footwear design the shoe is my canvas. The trigger to create a new piece comes when an idea, a concept and/or an image comes to mind. The combination of the image and footwear creates a new hybrid and the design/concept comes to life. The piece is a wearable sculpture. It is "alive" with/out the foot/body. Most of the inspirations are out of the "shoe-world", and give the footwear an extreme transformation. The result is usually humoristic with a unique point of view about footwear. Another aspect of the creation is the realization. All the pieces are hand-made in my studio. The challenging technical development is the key to bring the design to life in the best way."
