YOUTH IN FOCUS

Young Fashion Institute grads grapple the notion of identity: Who are they? Who they want to design for? What is their purpose in design?

In bridging the gap between classic technique and innovative silhouettes, these new graduates are participating in an age-old experiment in design. In finding their voice, they discover their sense of purpose. Our job is to see if its a voice worth hearing. Here, a gander of  10 new collections from 10 brand-spanking new designers.

GENERATION MEGA: The Mega Young Designers Competition 2011

The MEGA Young Designer Competition have had the reputation of launching the careers of young filipino designers. Having the long line of winners (Aries Lagat, Alex Pigao, et.al.), which have proven they are cut above the rest among the plethora of designers, it is a privilege for the new chosen few to be part of this new endeavour of MEGA. Indeed fashion reality TV is a good way to market the new designers, especially the winner. Cant wait to watch this!
